Jerry Stewart FIoC MILT has been influential in the success of Eagle Couriers (Scotland) Ltd from Glasgow depot start up in 1988 to current company status as Scotland’s leading Independent courier company. Jerry is currently a Director and shareholder in Eagle Couriers with over 30 years experience in the courier/Logistics /Distribution industry. Jerry is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and a Fellow of the Institute of Couriers.
After training as an accountant, I gained experience in a number of different industries including manufacturing, building, financial and care services before joining Eagle as Finance Manager in 1997. Following our MBO in 2006, I am now director and shareholder and my role has expanded to cover all aspects of the business. After Eagle, my life revolves around animals with a growing menagerie of rescued pets at home.
Richard graduated from Glasgow University more years ago than he cares to admit holding a degree as unsuited to a career in logistics as it is possible to be awarded. Richard’s first real job was with a courier company and he was wandered from one logistics posting to another since whilst trying to work out what we wants to do when he is older. Richard joined Eagle Couriers in 2008 as Contracts Manager. In the years preceding Eagle, Richard worked for Sainsbury’s and Scottish Citylink Coaches. As a father of three daughters Richard finds his spare time limited. That time which he does get to himself tends to see him engaged in sport in some shape or form, and he is rubbish across the board at rugby, football, golf and triathlon. Consistency in his mediocrity is Richard’s main sporting skill.
I joined Eagle Couriers in 2009 having spent over 20 years in the transport, distribution, courier and logistics sectors. I have been employed over this time in varying positions working within road haulage, palletised freight & overnight parcel networks and sameday courier industries. I am currently heading up the Contract and Distribution department within Eagle. Outwith work, family, rugby and running take up my time along with walking my dog on the beach.
As a Glasgow boy, I worked in a number of different businesses in and around the city before joining PDQ Couriers in 1998. I gained a lot of experience in every aspect of that company which I brought to Eagle in 2010. I have enjoyed the challenges of taking on a bigger fleet and more responsibility and am now Senior Controller with responsibility for the Glasgow and Aberdeen circuits. I believe in providing the best possible service and thoroughly enjoy working with the variety of clients Eagle has and keeping the wheels turning. Outside of work, my passion is cars, with a particular love of all things BMW.
Tragically Brian passed away in May 2015 at age of 41. We have left his bio here as he was such a big influence on all the staff at Eagle and will be forever remembered.
I’m an Edinburgh lad born & bred from the West side of the City.
My courier career started while at college as a part time pushbike courier in 1998. I later started working full time as a dispatch controller until I joined Eagle in 2008. I am now one of the Senior Controllers with responsibilities for the drivers and fleet on the Edinburgh & Dundee circuits. I find my role both challenging & rewarding and thrive knowing that no two days are ever alike.
Outside work I’m a very keen cyclist and ride to work all year round in all weathers. I enjoy both mountain biking & road rides achieving around 6000 miles a year which keeps me both fit and sane……A perfect way to unwind after a manic week. 🙂
